Nyingchi is a prefecture-level city in the southeast of Tibet, China. It is reputed as the Eastern Switzerland and Jiangnan of Tibet because of its picturesque scenery and fertile land. Famous attractions in Nyingchi include: Ranwu Lake, Nyingchi Peach Blossom Village, Lulang Forest, Basum-tso Lake, Midui Glacier, Namjagbarwa Peak, Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, and Sejila Mountain Pass.
With an average altitude of about 3,000 meters, Nyingchi is the lowest area in Tibet, boasting high forest coverage and high oxygen content in the air. Therefore, tourists are less likely to get altitude sickness here, and a lot of people will chose Nyingchi as their first stop when they travel to Tibet.
