The average altitude of Ngari Area is the highest in Tibet - over 4,200 meters. It is located in the westernmost part of Tibet. A large part of the lake belongs to freshwater lake, but the small part of the lake located at the Kashmir Region belongs to saltwater lake. You will pass by Pangong-tso Lake when you travel to Ngari via the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway.
