In February, you can wear a sweater and a fleece jacket in the sunny Shannan. When there is no sunshine, you need to wear some underneath shirts and pants as well. In the early morning and the late evening, be sure to keep your feet warm as well.

The winter in Shannan is not cold. When the sun comes out, it even feels a bit hot. February is the month for a leisure travel in Tibet. In the morning, you can visit the Yumbu Lhakhang Palace in Shannan, which is the first palace in Tibet with a history of more than 2,100 years. In Tibetan language, it means “mother & son palace”. Tashi Xiori Mountain is like a recumbent female deer, which " Yumbu " means the female deer in Tibetan. "Lha" means the hind leg, and "Kang" is the palace, which is supposed to have a gentle and serene feeling. Tibetans from all regions come to the Yumbu Lhakhang Palace or Samye Temple to perform Kora and to worship Buddha. In addition to visiting the temple, you can also see the magnificent scenery o Yarlung Zangbo River along the road in the warm sunshine. Because Shannan is located in the middle of the Yarlung Zangbo River, it traverses the north and south of the mountain, thus forming the fertile plateau valley and plain in Shannan. The heights of the mountains on both sides of the valley are pastures with the forests in the middle and the fertile farmland on the bottom and the estuary of the valley. The Yarlung Zangbo River suddenly opens the vision with the dense forest scattering on the riverside, which grow strongly and vigorously, demonstrating the great vitality.
The winter climate in Shannan is relatively dry. In winter, it is necessary to keep your skin moisturized. It is recommended to bring lip balm, hand cream, lotion, face cream and other skin care products. It is recommended to drink more water and eat more fruits in Shannan. When you come to Shannon in winter, you don't need to take a bath every day like in the mainland. Bathing every day is not only easy to catch a cold, but also the skin gets more dry after showering.
