The Philippine tourists have to apply for a China visa before applying for a Tibet Entry Permit. It is suggested to send the required documents to the embassy in Manila or the consulates in Cebu or Laoag to apply for China visa.
There are direct flights to many China cities from Manila Aquino International Airport. Most planes fly to cities located in south China, such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guanghzou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Macau and Shenzhen. Beijing, the capital of China, is the only destination in north China. It takes only around 2.5 hours for flights to these south China cities, and 5 hours to Beijing.
The cheapest flight from Manila to China costs only 61 USD. Its destination is Hong Kong. However, if your final destination is Tibet, it is suggested to fly to Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou, where you could change to another flight or train to Tibet. There is no direct flights or train from Hong Kong to Tibet, so although you would have saved more money on international flights, the domestic transportation costs much more.
The Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are very popular tourist attractions in Tibet. For most tourists from the Philippines, April, May, June, September and October are the best five months for attending a Kailash Manasarovar tour. During this time, you could enjoy the continuous good weather and comfortable climates, and admire the most beautiful sceneries. Beside Mount Kailash, these five months are also the best time to see sunrise in the Mount Everest Base Camp.
If Filipino tourists don’t have time to visit the Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar during these five months, July and August can be their second options. Although these two months are rainy season, the temperature is good for taking a tour and the sceneries are beautiful.
