Belgian citizens need to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit to take a sightseeing tour in Tibet. In order to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit, they need to apply for a China visa first. The application for China visa could be submit in Brussels, while the Tibet Entry Permit could only be applied in Lhasa by a local travel agency.
Belgian citizens could apply for a China visa in the consular section of China embassy or the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. Most people choose to go to the latter one due to its longer open hours, 9:00 to 11:30 for the embassy and 9:00 to 15:00 for the Center. Both the embassy and Center are open between Monday and Friday, except public holidays.
Generally speaking, it is easy for Belgian citizens to get China visa successfully, as long as they submit the required documents. They will get a pick-up receipt when they finish the application process. Please keep the receipt well, otherwise the officials may refuse to give visa and your passport to you, even if their website says you can get your visa and passport by showing your ID card.
It is suggested to take a flight operated by Air France from Brussels to Beijing. If you want less stopover time, you need to spend 650 USD, with only 17 hours’ stopover time. If you do not mind spending more 10 hours for stopover, the price is around 600 USD. There will be one stopover in Copenhagen and one in Paris for these two flights.
When you arrive in Beijing, it is convenient to take another flight or train to Lhasa. International tourists need to travel to Tibet by joining a tour organized by a local travel agency. Please kindly check out our Tibet group tour packages to see you are interested in one of them. We could also arrange transportation for you.
The Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are very popular tourist attractions in Tibet. For most tourists from Belgium, April, May, June, September and October are the best five months for attending a Kailash Manasarovar tour. During this time, you could enjoy the continuous good weather and comfortable climates, and admire the most beautiful sceneries. Beside Mount Kailash, these five months are also the best time to see sunrise in the Mount Everest Base Camp.
If Belgian tourists don’t have time to visit the Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar during these five months, July and August can be their second options. Although these two months are rainy season, the temperature is good for taking a tour and the sceneries are beautiful.
