Dazhou is a prefecture-level city in the northeast corner of Sichuan province, China, bordering Shaanxi to the north and Chongqing to the east and south. Dazhou is an important river and land transportation hub for the region. Numerous national highways, expressways, and rail lines pass through Dazhou connecting it directly with major cities in China such as Chengdu, Xi'an, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, etc., making it one of Sichuan's important trade centers.

Dazhou Heshi Airport (IATA: DAX, ICAO: ZUDX) is an airport serving Dazhou, Sichuan province, China. It used to be called Daxian Airport. It is 12KM from downtown Dazhou. As the demands of air transport grows in Dazhou, the airport alone cannot cater to the passengers. The new airport - Baijie Airport is under construction.

It is located on the south bank of the magnificent Yalu Tsangpo River at an altitude of 3,600 meters. It is one of the highest civil airports in the world. The Gonggar Airport covers a smaller area and operates fewer flights than most airports in the world. And there is only one terminal building with one entrance and one exit in the Gongga Airport. The shuttle bus, bound for the Civil Aviation Bureau at the foot of the Potala Palace, is parked only 5 meters from the exit. The ticket fare is only 30 yuan.
