Weather & temperature at Everest Base Camp in October:
October is the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. The plateau is full of dry cold air and high pressure. The precipitation is gradually reduced. It enters the dry season with strong ultraviolet radiation. there is no blockage and refraction of water vapor, and the visibility of Mount Everest is particularly high. October and November are also the best time to for Everest photography. At this time, the wind is getting much stronger, it’s not advisable to stay outdoors for too long. Travel Notes on visiting Everest Base Camp in October
The temperature difference between day and night is too large for the human body to adapt. It’s cold at night with strong wind, which is not easy for people to fall asleep at night. The local heating conditions are limited and it doesn’t always work. At the end of October, the tents of Everest Base Camp began to be withdrawn, and it is not available to stay overnight. You can stay at the Rongbu Temple guest house or the motels in the town of Tingri. If your are planning to see the Everest sunrise in the morning, you need to get up very early to travel from the town of tingri to Mount Everest.
Daytime average temperature: Above 10°C, warm clothes such as outdoor fleece jackets, down jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, warm pullovers, etc. are recommended.
Nighttime average temperature: below 0°C(may snow & rain), winter clothes such as winter coats, leather jackets, windproof jackets, down jackets, s scarves, hats, gloves, sunglasses, masks, etc. are recommended.
