Day1 Chengdu – Leshan Giant Buddha - Chengdu

 

This morning we will take you on the pleasant 2-hour drive from Chengdu to the LeShan Giant Buddha, the largest carved statue of the Buddha in the world. Sitting at the confluence of three rivers, the Giant Buddha was carved into the cliffside of Lingyun Mountain more than 1,200 years ago in the hopes that it would help to suppress flooding in the area. You can enjoy a spectacular view of the gargantuan statue as you walk down the narrow staircase to the foot of the Buddha.

After we visit the Giant Buddha, we will take you back to your hotel in Chengdu.

Recommended evening activity:
Watch a wonderful performance of the traditional Sichuan Opera at the Shufengyayun Opera House, including folk opera, face changing, fire spitting, and rolling lights performances and much more.

Day2 Chengdu: Panda Base, Renmin Park, Jinli Street

 

This morning we will pick you up from your hotel by private vehicle to visit the lovely Giant Pandas at the Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base & Breeding Center, which is the number one must-do thing in Chengdu. We will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel and drive about 30 minutes to the panda base to see giant pandas as they are being fed, playing with each other, climbing trees, etc. There are many different enclosures for pandas of different ages, from baby pandas to 1-year old pandas to teenage pandas and older - more than 100 Giant Pandas live here at the center. Beautiful tree-lined walking paths lead you from one enclosure to the next so it’s an enjoyable morning spending time with the pandas. Don’t miss the opportunity to see panda mothers nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms. There is also a very informative Panda Museum filled with interesting exhibits and everything you need to know about these wonderful creatures.

After your visit to the panda center, we will show you why Chengdu is famous for its laid back, leisurely lifestyle with a visit to Renmin Park. Renmin (People’s) Park is where the locals go for a relaxing walk, to meet friends or have a cup of tea. After a relaxing visit to the park, we will take you on to Old Jinli Street. Jinli Street, by contrast, is a street mainly for tourists but it does offer a view of the way things were in ancient times. You can wander along this traditional old street to absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu while tasting the local snacks, watching street performers, etc.

After your tour, we will take you back to your hotel or we can escort you to the Chengdu airport or train station for your flight or train on to your next destination.

Alterations of Itineraries

The travel date, service items, itinerary and number of visitors, visitors’ ID information, etc. can be modified free of charge 30 days or more before the trip. If the visitor needs to make a second modification, an additional service fee of 5% of the deposit will be charged. Every time the content of the travel contract is modified, the company reserves the right to re-quote.

Cancellation Policy

 

Once the deposit is paid, your trip is confirmed. If you need to change or cancel your itinerary, please contact your travel consultant by email, phone, instant messenger, etc. There will be a charge for Cancellation or modification. The policy is as follows：

1. Notice of trip cancellation due to personal reasons before the trip starts
Cancellation 30 days or more before the trip starts, 10% penalty of the deposit.
Cancellation 29-15 days before the trip starts, 20% penalty of the deposit.
Cancellation 14-7 days before the trip starts, 30% penalty of the deposit.
Cancellation 6-2 days before the trip starts, 50% penalty of the deposit.
Cancellation within 48 hours prior to the trip starts, no refund of your deposit.

2. Trip cancellation due to irresistible factors before the trip starts

If you have to cancel the itinerary due to irresistible reasons such as traffic, weather, politics, etc., the deposit will be fully refunded by the company (for loss related to air ticket/train ticket, please take reference of the first item).

Wir konnten wunderbare Tage auf dem Dach der Welt verbringen - und wenn es heute erneut die Möglichkeit geben würde - Ja ich würde diese Reise noch einmal unternehmen. Dennoch sind es große Anstrengungen und die Touren im Auto sind lang. 2 Tage dauert die Autotour zum BaseCamp - Achtung - bei der Anreise überquert man bereits die ersten 3 Pässe mit über 5000m - daher sollte eine gesundheitliche Abwägung oberste Priorität haben. Tolle Organisation mit AMY - ich kann es nur jeden empfehlen, da Sie wirklich Sehr gut und schnell auf alle Anfragen, Anregungen und Änderungen eingeht. Ein Tip nach Möglichkeit mit der Tourguidin Kelsan Droma reisen - Auch Sie versteht es wunderbar Ihr Land näher zu bringen und lebt so positiv.

I was hoping I could stay longer to see the ancient city, Yamdrok Lake is the most beautiful lake I have ever saw.We managed to see as much as we can. Most beautiful place to go! Tour guide very funny and knowledgeable. Tour guide very good on taking picture. Suggest more site seeing and less temple. Suggest to eat hot pot every night. We reach the tallest point of 5248. Make sure not to fall to sleep. Make sure to take high altitude sickness bill and travel sickness bills before going. This trip is not for everyone, but for those whose are health and want to have some advantages. Make sure to bring flu and cold medicine with you since you can get sick very easily during winter. Very cold during the winter and make sure to bring enough cloths. Bring lotions, sun glasses and gloves. Make hot water every night in hotel and put it into the drink bottle to warm your bed. Best if you take the train to go in and plane to get out. But check the weather first, if snowing make sure to take the train. Once snowing, all plane will stop flying. Most beautiful place to go! Thanks for Tibet odyssey. Me and my friend had an unforgettable and amazing 9 days tour in Tibet in June 2019. During those 9days, our tour guide Ms Gao hong were really responsible, helpful and reliable, he arranged all of the schedule and help us to go through every single day smoothly, safely and comfortable, even when we in the highest place where is altitude 5200m, we didn’t feel any afraid and fearful. Wir reisten im April diesen Jahres (gute Reisezeit) nach Tibet, mit Tibet Odyssey Tours als Reiseveranstalter. Es hat uns sehr bewegt und wir träumen immer noch von unserer Reise nach Tibet, von der frischen Luft, den grünen Seen, den majestätischen Bergen und den vielen weiteren Sehenwürdigkeiten. Wir möchten unbedingt erneut nach Tibet. Die Einheimischen waren besonders freundlich zu den Touristen. Ein paar sprachen zwar kein Chinesisch, aber sie haben uns angelächelt und uns somit hallo gesagt. Wir haben uns einfach sehr Wilkommen gefühlt. Tibet Odyssey Tours ist eine perfekte Reiseagentur und wir hatten einen Tourguide mit viel Humor, Ortskenntnissen und Einfühlungsvermögen : ) Auf unserem Weg zum Everest Base Camp hat er uns stets gute Orte für Fotos empfohlen und er hat sich gut um uns gekümmert, z.B. wenn jemand an der Höhenkrankheit litt. Er war stets besorgt um unsere Gesundheit und hat uns jederzeit immer geholfen. Wir haben eine Nacht im Everest Base Camp geschlafen. Die Erfahrung war einmalig. Leider gab es nur eine öffentliche Toilette und es war sehr kalt, aber unser Guide hat uns mit den bescheidenen Mitteln, die vor Ort vorhanden waren, geholfen. Er hat sogar für Licht mit seinem Handy gesorgt. Diese Hilfsbereitschaft hat uns wirklich sehr bewegt. Die Reiseagentour können wir nur wärmstens empfehlen. Hier gilt unser spezieller Dank Amy, die sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben hat.
